Buried

Purchased maybe Thursday or Friday last week, finished last night. I quite enjoyed it, and played it pretty heavily over the weekend. Ended up clocking it in around 18 hours, not doing all of the available side missions and with a fair amount of wasted time. Speed run, it was not. Without going into heaps of detail, AI and a fairly linear/repetitive mission structure were the main shortcomings of the game. Storyline, graphics and the 'sandbox' nature of the game were probably the strongest things going for it. Fire propagation is nice ^^

Small gallery thing going on in Northbridge, I went yesterday, is fairly good for 5 minutes entertainment then walking further into NB and getting bubble tea ^^ There's even a few pieces from Paul Robertson.

One to go.

Received Persepolis today, just waiting on V for Vendetta.

Pretty much finished work experience, wouldn't mind keeping on working there somehow but seems unlikely.

Wut?

Call to study more British. No, no, and no. In my experience, history lessons were already anglo-centric to an excessive point. Yes it's important to know our origins, but that needs to be in a world context. I'm just trying to think about his reasoning for these comments, whether it's the Catholic background, or is he a monarchist? I forget. Either way, I disagree. Bring on asian studies in school, particularly Indonesia. Our biggest neighbour and I bet most Australians just think of it as "that place Michelle Corby is" or "Home of Bali Bombers". Not good T_T

New?

Awhile ago I ordered some books for myself and one as a gift for my brother. They've been arriving in drips and drabs.

So far I have received...

Batman: The Dark Knight Returns

The Watchmen

Into the Wild (gift)

Still waiting on...

Persepolis

V for Vendetta

I used this website, BetterWorld.com, prices were pretty good and while shipping was slow, it wasn't outside of what they suggested it may take (up to 21 business days).

In other news, did a game design essay today/last night, hopefully it's not shit. I swapped my finished essay with a friend doing the same unit - we'd written about vastly different things, so we're hoping that it's more that the question was too open, and not that one of us has screwed the pooch.

Speaking of, I love that saying. Screwed the pooch. Genius.
